Bath TTL 2019/20 Cup Week 3

Restricted Cup

Ensleigh B 0 – 9 Key Centre A

The experience of Key Centre was telling in the end although Ensleigh battled well. James Varcoe took Dave Carter to a fourth set but the rest of the games were won in three.

Bear Flat A 7 – 2 Radstock B

Paul Green chalked up another MOTM performance to help his team into the next round. Radstock battled hard but with Dan Walker almost gaining a maximum but it wasn’t enough.

Bitton 2 – 5 Yatton Keynell A

All bar one of the games went to four or five sets but the form of Alastair Hulbert and Colin Thomas was too much for Bitton.

Knock Out Cup

Bathford A 3 – 6 Bath Invaders B

The Bath Invaders team picked up two games each which was enough to see them through against a strong Bathford team.

Oldfield A 8 – 1 Bathford B

Ali Pearson and Phil Marshall hit maximums for Oldfield A as they expertly dispatched Bathford B to progress to the Semi Finals.

Handicap Cup

Bath Invaders A 6 – 3 Bathford A

Unfortunately Bathford could only field two players after a late drop out. This takes nothing away from a solid performance from the Invaders, with MOTM going to Jack Vaughan.

Key Centre C 4 – 5 Yatton Keynell C

This was the closest of all of the matches this week but was over in the 8th set. Richard Terrell proved too much for a young Key Centre side as Richard beat Chris Zikos 21-18 in the final set of the 8th game.

Bear Flat B 7 – 1 Key Centre A

This was the shock result of the week as the Division Two leaders knocked out an established Division One team. Tim Cahill and teenager Tim Green remained undefeated with Key Centre opting not to play the last game.

Bear Flat C 3 – 5 Batheaston A

Progression to the semi finals was wound up early in the 7th set for Batheaston, even with Dennis Townsend stepping up as his team mate didn’t turn up.
